Every piece is designed and handcrafted by me, Kimberley, in my home studio on the island. I work with semi precious gemstones, fourteen karat gold filled, and sterling silver to create everyday jewelry that fits real life. How Summer Gems began
Before jewelry, my background was in biochemistry and microbiology. I spent years working in labs, following systems, paying attention to detail, and learning how things truly work. Jewelry became my creative escape from that world. What started as something I made for myself slowly turned into something others wanted too.
My sister was the one who pushed me into business without realizing it. She took a handful of my pieces to work one day and came back saying they sold. That moment changed everything.
I started selling at farmers markets, resort pop ups, and small events across Barbados. Those early conversations shaped how I still run this brand today. Listening first. Explaining honestly. Making sure each piece fits the person and the lifestyle it is meant for.
Summer Gems grew from there, one interaction at a time.
